This
major decision will help in achieving the desired level of Teacher- Pupil ratio
as per the RTE Act.
The
online recruitment test will be held in the institutions/colleges having
sufficient number of functional computer systems and necessary supporting
infrastructure and the responsibility for
identification of appropriate & requisite number of Test centres solely
rests with EdCIL. The Test Centres will be located in NCR Region as sufficient number
of such Computer equipped institutions are not available within
Delhi.
It has
been decided to recommend age relaxation and an additional weightage by way of
marks for experience as a one-time measure to the candidates who served as
guest/contract teachers in different categories under the Directorate of
Education, provided they fulfil the terms &
conditions as laid down in the Supreme Court of India judgement in the case of State of Karnataka and others VS
Umadevi &others (civil 3595-3612 of
1999).
The
department had been working following directions by the Chief Minister that the
Directorate of Education may come-up with a proposal to give a fair opportunity
to eligible Guest Teachers and Contract teachers of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) to enable them to appear for the open
recruitment test without compromising on quality.
The Chief
Minister had further suggested that candidates who worked as guest teachers and
contract teachers of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) in the
previous years may be given age relaxation and weightage marks as a onetime
measure by linking to the years of service rendered by them with appropriate
conditions.
The
annual additional financial burden on account of filling up of all the 9623
newly created posts will be about Rs. 540 crore under plan. During the current financial year, namely,
2015-16 an amount of Rs. 666 crore has been provided to meet the likely expenditure on
account of existing as well as newly created posts.
